Festive leaf collage
Get curious and make this festive leaf collage , perfect for all ages if you want something to do on a cold winters day. This collage can be used as a picture frame for your loved ones, a background for a letter, or just to help you get in the festive mood!
Method:
First you are going to need a template for your leaves, you can use the one we have linked down below to get the same look as ours or you can make your own simply by tracing the shape of a leaf onto a piece of paper or card.
With your template underneath, take a piece of coloured card or paper and trace it.
Then you are going to need to cut out your paper leaf, we used a Stanley knife to get a more precise cut however you can use scissors.
With the empty outline of your leaf, you can place that on other pieces of card and cut around it to speed the process along.
Next you need to get the base for your collage, we used a piece of cardboard however you can use anything as long as it is sturdy enough to hold the collage up.
Once you’ve got your base you can start gluing your paper leaves onto it, slightly layering them to cover up the blank space.
Continue cutting more leaves and placing them onto your base in varying angles until it looks something like this.
The beauty of this activity is you can make it your own, why not add sparkles to give it a more wintery look?
You can make many variations with different colours, shapes, and sizes. We’ve got a couple different things to do with your festive leaf collage so keep reading!
Something you could use your winter collage for is as a background for a letter or poem.
